Part of having a thriving business is knowing exactly what is going on each month. Caroline makes that happen!
Caroline grew up in Monett, Missouri, graduating a semester early from high school so that she could get a head start on college. Caroline has always been driven and had a love for numbers. When she was a little girl, Caroline would earn money, and she would always put 10% away for tithe, 50% into savings, and 40% was hers to spend. Caroline was 15 years old when she opened up a Roth IRA. Since learning more about savings, Caroline is an advocate for HSAs due to their triple tax benefit: money is not taxed going in, money is not taxed going out, and the earnings are also not taxed (plus the money can be invested!).
Caroline interned at a banking software company for two summers. One summer she worked with banks on core software running IBM I-series AS400 platform as well as retrieving source code changes using File Transfer Protocol and initiating monthly software patches (PTFs). Another summer she balanced the general ledger on a daily basis for various accounts for a $21 billion bank as well as collaborating with the research and development business analyst in building a reconciliation module for the financial institutions. Caroline earned her bachelor degree from College of the Ozarks which has a work-study program where the students work part-time to pay for their tuition. Caroline’s job on campus was to tutor other Accounting students.
Upon graduation, Caroline started a full-time job with the 8th largest public accounting firm in the Auditing department where she worked for 5+ years and performed audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed upon procedures for public and private companies. Not only did Caroline work on financial statement audits, she also worked on multiple types of employee benefit plans including SEC clients who had to file an 11-K. While working full-time (which was often a 60-80 hour week), Caroline obtained her Master of Accountancy (with a 4.0) and her CPA. Caroline left her position as an Audit Manager to join the ACO team in 2022.
Caroline has been married to her husband, Kyle, since 2020. They currently have two dogs (a Golden Retriever and a rescue dog who is a Red Heeler/Great Pyrenees mix) and a cat (a rescue cat who is a Siamese mix). Caroline loves to spend time with her family, volunteer with the youth group at her church, bake, and read. Her idea of relaxing is to read a good book by the pool.
